FRIDAY EVE HEADLINER The Mantic Muddlers
Combining a rich influence of sonic stylings and serving up their stories on a foundation of infectious grooves and raucous melodies, The Mantic Muddlers have a soundscape that pays tribute to the rich history of Roots music, whilst pushing forward into new territory. Songs that walk a tightrope between Fiction & Reality are put forth on such instruments as the searing Violin, thunderous Double Bass and Resonator Guitar, and then enriched with a coating of heartfelt vocal harmonies… For lack of a legitimate genre, you’ll be hearing Roots, Rattle & Roll!
Having spent the majority of his early musical career touring internationally in rock and metal bands Sam Horton decided to embark on a solo career in 2014 with the release of his debut record ‘EP Volume 1’. His influences span from contemporary r&b with the likes of Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake, acoustic folk sounds of City & Colour and Jason Mraz, rock legends such as Bon Jovi and Led Zeppelin, classic soul such as Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder, to modern day rap/hiphop such as 6lack and Drake. Sam has played at the IOW Festival and in Switzerland @ Le Nouveau Monde as well as receiving airtime on Radio 1’s BBC introducing show.
Brighton based acoustic powerhouse Liemba combine classic folk routes with contemporary acoustic/rock influences. Imagine Crosby, Stills and Nash fused with Kings of Convenience, Fleetwood Mac and the Staves.
Simon Gledhill, Nelson Day and Damian Best form the backbone of Liemba with their sumptuous harmonies and intricate guitar interplay. With songs that could bring a tear to a glass eye and raise the hair on a stoic’s neck, Liemba have a magic that stays with you. Harmony driven anthems catapult the band’s set into another dimension and get the audience buzzing. They will occasionally be joined on stage by a rhythm section plucked from Brighton’s rich pool of virtuoso players.

This has received regular airplay on radio stations such as BBC and Express FM.
