Petersfield Easter Egg Trail 2017
The Petersfield Easter Egg Trail was a fun initiative for the children of Petersfield and the surrounding area to take part in over the Easter Holidays. Local businesses took part in the Trail which had over 120 school children take part to follow the ‘Trail Map’ around town collecting stickers and treats along the way.
Once completed, they returned their entry form into The Tourist Information Centre and the winners were chosen. The winner received £100 of Trail Vouchers which can be spent back in participating shops in town as well as 3 runners up prizes of chocolate eggs sponsored by Thorntons At Home.
Easter Egg Trail Winners – Main Prize of £100 of Trail Vouchers – Tiarna Seymour (age 10)
Runners up chocolate eggs – Finn O’Brien (5), Thomas Watson (4) and Sam Soden (7)
How it worked
After many successful trails, Hometown Festivals are bringing back the most popular Petersfield Easter Egg Trail, which will run over the two week Easter school holiday from Saturday April 8th – Saturday April 22nd.
As per the concept of previous Trails, the Petersfield public pick up a Trail map and will walk the trail around town to look at all the businesses involved. All ‘Trailers’ will need to actually enter every business on the Trail to collect an egg sticker which will need to be added to their Trail Map. Once the Trail has been completed, they must return their form to receive a FREE chocolate Easter treat for every child as well as have a chance to win the top prize of £100 worth of ‘Trail Vouchers’ and an Easter Egg or one of the chocolatey runners-up prizes.
The winner of the Petersfield Easter Egg Trail will be announced and will win £100 of ‘Trail Vouchers’ that can only be spent in participating Petersfield businesses.
Trail maps have been handed out to over 2,000 local school children in the area and have gone home in the school bags. If your child isn’t at one of the schools or loses their map you can get a replacement from Petersfield Tourist Information, inside the Library on the Square or any of the shops on the Trail.
The Trail will run from 9am on Saturday 8th April until 5pm on Saturday 22nd April.
Have an awesome Easter!
Petersfield Easter Egg Colouring Competition
The Petersfield Colouring Competition ran over the Easter Holidays as well and gave the more creative children something to get their teeth into. With their creative heads on they designed the best Easter Egg they could manage and once again handed them into Sew Creative ready to be judged and then displayed over the second week of the holiday. The winning design won a large chocolate Easter Egg, with 2 runners up receiving smaller chocolate eggs also from Thorntons At Home.
A big congratulations to all our winners!

How it worked
If you are aged 12 years or under, simply colour in the egg with your most awesome design ever, fill in your details and hand this form into Sew Creative on Lavant Street. You will have the chance of winning an awesome chocolate Easter Egg and a place on a sewing workshop, plus there will be runners-up prizes of smaller Thorntons chocolate eggs. Every school will also have a child chosen to receive a runners up certificate. Some designs will be chosen for display in the Sew Creative for the second week of the school holiday and we will ask a couple of independent people to look at them all and decide who the winners are. We will then contact the winners and let them know the exSHELLent news… Good luck and get creative!
