Celebrating our local heroes and businesses of Petersfield in 2026, Petersfield Community Events are back with the event which allows us to celebrate everything and everyone awesome in Petersfield. YOU decide on who to nominate, the independent panel of judges will decide on the shortlists based on those nominations and then you once again decide on who wins these prestigious awards with ALL categories open to a public vote this year.

 

The nomination stage is now closed and over 400 people took the time to put forward 1,500 nominations.  

 

The independent panel of judges have deliberated and decided on the short lists for all categories and these are listed below along with examples of why they were nominated and now all categories are open to a public vote to decide the winners.   Voting will now be open until Sunday 11th October 2026 and so get those votes coming in.

 

The live awards ceremony evening will be held at Churcher's College on Friday 23rd October when all winners will be announced.

VOTING STAGE - September until mid October when you can then vote on all categories to decide on who from the shortlists will be the winners.

We ask members of the public to nominate their favourite businesses for each of the 20 categories, giving their reasons for nominating.

In early August, a panel of judges go through every nomination and decide the final shortlists for each category.

An exciting new business in town that combines good customer service with excellent quality produce.

Created the most safe space for anyone looking to improve their fitness. Her small pilates classes make you feel so safe and well looked after.

A lovely , creative , business with beautiful designs that promote inclusivity, diversity in the most gorgeous and subtle style

Ella Williams

Hampshire champion for women’s artistic gymnastics and also placed 4th at regionals competing against gymnasts up to 5 years older than her.
 

Freya Gander

Started her pet sitting and walking business this year and has already got a fully booked summer. Customer feedback has been amazing from both humans and animals.
 

Jake Hird

An inspirational young man, who has struggled with a lot in life. He is now completing a college course and had to move away from his comforts.
 

Keira Lippiett
Written and released her first single- Hooked (Keira Kingsbury). 3000+ streams on Spotify and working on her first album. Performs at festival and gigs while studying for her GCSEs.

The Escapist

Fantastic drink selection. Always welcoming and friendly, especially when we take our daughter, relaxed atmosphere, knowledgeable staff. All round fantastic place!
 

The Queen's Head
Amazing and friendly staff with quick service, well kept beer, a huge range of alternative drinks and absolutely incredible atmosphere consistently.

 

The Square Brewery
The support of the local community and dedication to live music is incredible. Use of ‘coffee and cake’ offers means this pub is now a meeting place for retired locals, young families and everyone in between!

 

The Townhouse
Always a great range of Ales brewed locally, friendly staff, super atmosphere.. great venue for meeting with friends, groups and that special party!!

Butterflies Lingerie
Eco friendly packaging and materials used to make a lot of the products is sustainable - recycled garments/use of landfill.


Coffee Pod Creations​

Eco friendly and sustainable jewellery from used coffee pods. Makes everything by hand and packages everything herself in used newspaper, to keep the eco-friendlyness of her company.


Juniper

It's so great to have a business in town who is helping to reduce the use of plastic. Being able to go and refill makes such a difference to how much I throw into the bin.


Nature Makers

Learning outside using natural items offering mindful art, craft, and play for natural wellbeing.

Clare Morphew

This lady is second to none! A year 5 teacher, does music/choir activities, she runs history club, part of the money raising team and has lunch with the children every single day without fail.

 

Jessica Duncan

Nothing is ever too much, she is great with all children and knows them so well as individuals. The whole class really want her to get this award as they think she is the best teacher.


Olivia Bicknell

Best teacher and directs the school Musical putting extra hours into weekends and after school to make it a great experience.


Rhiannon Jones

Not only an English teacher who helps all of her classes achieve top band grades she is a great role models who advocates for equality and is so kind hearted.

Entertainment Events
Excellent events that bring high end peformances from top class performers, while raising money for the Rosemary foundation.


Petersfield Shine Radio

Unique and knowledgeable - a caring proper local service and entertainment and now on DAB, what an achievement.


Petersfield Theatre Group

They give so much entertainment to a very high standard. Their shows are amazing and the time and dedication everyone puts in for these shows is worthy of this Award.

 

Winton Players

How lovely it would be for this hardworking, conistentlty peforming for the public group, to be awarded the Arts and Entertainment award in their 80th year.

Gallery No 30

Great food, friendly relaxed atmosphere. Also promotes local artists & crafters by showcasing their work.


Ginger's Cafe

Local business using local products - amazing quality food and drinks with great customer service. There to serve as soon as they could after the fire, even without a roof.
 

Madeleine's Kitchen

The food is delicious and on another level! They also put on evening events such as cheese tasting and full 6 course meals.


Tea Barn at DurleighMarsh

Coffee is excellent, staff are friendly and welcoming. The food! Consistently delicious cakes and the sausage rolls are the BEST!

Amy Perkins
Raised an insane amount of money for Macmillian. She trained so incredibly hard for the London Marathon alongside a full time job in policing and rehearsals for PTG.

 

Paul Hawes
Most remarkable achievement was completing the Marathon des Sables in Moroccovin his mid-60s making it even more inspiring while raising money for the Rosemary Foundation.

Petersfield Run Crew
Brought together runners of all abilities for friendly conversation pace 5k's for the sheer joy of running and chatting with like minded souls. All free of charge, no sign ups, no pressure.

Petersfield Women's Rugby
A safe, welcoming, inclusive space for all women from existing players, new and returning players celebrating all its members. Proud to forge the way for the women of the future.

Barkin' Fresh Dog Groomers
Always a friendly face and the staff are passionate about their job and welfare of their doggy clients.

 

Butterflies Lingerie

The time the ladies spend with their customers and their attention and service is outstanding putting everyone at ease while greeting them with a smile.

Just lovely, lovely staff. Nothing is too much and they've built a real community. They can never do enough making all the ladies feel so welcome and happy.

Setting up and chairing the new Petersfield Evening WI which now has 220 members and brought a sense of community and friendship to the women of Petersfield.

She is such a lifting spirit. I never leave her feeling sad. She works on cheering up every person she meets and fights for body positivity.

Compères the likes of which Petersfield has never seen. They enjoy nothing more than bringing a smile or causing a groan from all. Petersfield’s answer to Ant & Dec!


Marie Penson

The heart of the salon going above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. Her bubbly personality is infectious, always has a sparkle in her eye and a mischievous sense of humour that brightens everyone's day.

Emma Twist - Dance Off

It brings together dancers of different ages and abilities. Emma is extremely patient, talented and committed to achieving the best in her students.

Half Moon Music Festival

Best music event and with great entertainment to raise money for a much needed Rosemary Foundation.

Bringing the town together to reinforce to our men to get tested and raise awareness about prostate cancer / issues - early detection saves lives.

Amazing family friendly event in the gorgeous surroundings of Sky Park Farm.

Leon Jenkins
Hampshire's youngest Sexton helping coordinate care of the cemetery and burials while also organising the big PetersField clean up.

 

Men's Shed
To say that it has been life changing is an under statement. I feel I am part of a community, I have made great friends and they are inclusive and happy for women to join the shed. I don't know what I would do without them.

 

Petersfield Free Shop

They do so much more than just save food going to landfill. They help and support local people of Petersfield.
 

Petersfield Women's Institute
Bringing a community of women together to grow friendships and their contributions to local charities. Their growth from Sept 2024 has brought 220 members together.

They promote not only their business socially they shout out all other local independents. Special events for customers with a loyalty scheme offering discounts and they support local charities.

Jake's Toys

Always go the extra mile to ensure your shopping experience is extra special. Giving support to local charities throughout the year. Despite the threat of rent increasing and shop lifting, they persevere and remain a crucial and much loved gem to the Petersfield community.

One Tree Books

A wonderful friendly community hub of a shop that has bounced back from that horrible fire last year. Brilliant in their approach to an awful situation and received support from grateful customers. Impressive.
 

Sage & Salt

A very challenging year with knock backs but are going from strength to strength and the community engagement with the ‘My Happy Place’ community exhibition is really commendable!

Beautiful restaurant and such friendly staff. There sharing platters are a welcome addition the fact the menu changes regularly is appealing and makes you want to visit again and again.

Fez

It is truly a special place in our community. The food is always authentic, full of rich Turkish flavour, and beautifully presented. Every meal is prepared with care and the service is always warm, welcoming, and excellent.

Miso Asia

An extensive menu that never disappoints. The food is fresh and delicious, the service is excellent and if it is your birthday, the manager even plays the guitar to sing happy birthday to you!

Sky Park Farm

Great food, local produce and steaks are cooked to perfection. Butchers counter experience is something different that nowhere else offers. Brilliant service

Great haircutting/stying and the BEST head massage! Efficient and friendly reception; stylists who really care about what you want and a stable team which says a lot for the ethos of the salon.

 

The Canopy Hair

All exceptional stylists and the salon has a different feel to it. I never feel judged in there, and they listen to what I want. The drinks are always served with biscuits and at Christmas they even offer a Baileys latte or hot chocolate and mince pies. I mean, what is not to love about that!
